On Sunday morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed a major road show in the Karnataka district of Mandyan. A large gathering greeted the Prime Minister when he arrived in Mandya to lay the groundwork for many projects and to open the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway.
BJP fans and locals showered PM Modi with flower petals and yelled chants during his roadshow. People were queued up on both sides of the streets as the Prime Minister’s motorcade passed. The Prime Minister was also spotted meeting and waving to folks.
The Prime Minister will dedicate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth around Rs 16,000 crore during his visit. According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the PM will dedicate and lay the foundation stone for critical road projects in Mandya at about 12 p.m. After that, at around 3:15 p.m., he will launch and lay the groundwork for several development efforts in Hubballi-Dharwad.
“The quick development of infrastructure projects demonstrates the Prime Minister’s objective of ensuring world-class connectivity throughout the country. As part of this effort, the Prime Minister will dedicate the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway to the country “The PMO issued in a statement.
The project entails widening NH-275 from Bengaluru to Nidaghatta and Mysuru to six lanes. The 118-kilometer-long project has a total cost of roughly Rs 8,480 crores. It will cut the travel time between Bengaluru and Mysuru from around 3 hours to approximately 75 minutes. It will serve as a catalyst for the region’s socioeconomic growth.
The Prime Minister will also lay the groundwork for a four-lane motorway connecting Mysuru and Kushalnagar. The project would be built over 92 kilometers and will cost roughly Rs 4130 crores. The project will play an important role in improving connectivity between Kushalnagar and Bengaluru, reducing travel time from around 5 to 2.5 hours.
Apart from that, Prime Minister Modi will dedicate IIT Dharwad to the country. The Prime Minister also lay the foundation stone for the institute in February 2019. The institute, built at a cost of about Rs 850 crores, now provides a 4-year B.Tech. programs, an inter-disciplinary 5-year BS-MS degree, M.Tech. and Ph.D. programs.
In addition, he will dedicate to the country the world’s longest railway platform at Shree Siddharoodha Swamiji Hubballi Station. The Guinness Book of World Records just acknowledged the record. The 1507-meter-long platform cost around Rs. 20 crores to construct.
The Prime Minister will commit the electrification of the Hosapete-Hubballi-Tinaighat stretch, as well as the upgrade of the Hosapete station, to improving regional connectivity.
“Developed at a cost of over Rs 530 crores, the electrification project establishes seamless train operation on electric traction. The redeveloped Hosapete station will provide convenient and modern facilities to travellers. It has been designed to resemble the Hampi monuments,” it said.
The Prime Minister will dedicate and lay the groundwork for numerous Hubballi-Dharwad smart city initiatives. These initiatives are projected to cost around Rs 520 crores in total. These initiatives will improve the quality of life by constructing sanitary, safe, and effective public areas, as well as transforming the town into a future urban center.
Prime Minister Modi will also lay the groundwork for the Jayadeva Hospital and Research Center. The facility, which would cost over Rs 250 crores to build, will provide tertiary cardiac treatment to the inhabitants of the region.
In order to improve water supply in the region, the Prime Minister will lay the groundwork for the Dharwad Multi Village Water Supply Project, which would cost more than Rs 1040 crores to build.
He will also lay the groundwork for the Tupparihalla Flood Damage Control Project, which would cost over Rs 150 crores to build.
The project comprises the construction of retaining walls and embankments to prevent flood damage.
