PM Modi inaugurates Aero India 2023 in Bengaluru

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the 14th edition of Asia’s largest aero show — Aero India 2023 – in Bengaluru.

During the flypast during the big air show’s launch event, Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari led the Gurukul formation.

The five-day expo will highlight local equipment and technology while also building relationships with foreign enterprises.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the theme of Aero India 2023 is “The Runway to a Billion Opportunities”.

The ‘CEOs Round Table’, under the chairmanship of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, will be held on February 13 on the theme ‘Sky is not the limit: opportunities beyond boundaries’.

“Prime Minister’s emphasis on Aatmanirbharta in the Indian Defence sector will also be displayed, as the event will showcase the country’s progress in design leadership, growth in UAVs Sector, Defence Space and futuristic technologies. Further, the event will promote the export of indigenous air platforms like Light Combat Aircraft (LCA)-Tejas, HTT-40, Dornier Light Utility Helicopter (LUH), Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) and Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH),” the PMO said in a statement.

More than 80 countries participated in Aero India 2023. Aero India 2023 is expected to attract ministers from over 30 nations as well as 65 CEOs from global and Indian OEMs. More than 800 defence businesses, including around 100 international and 700 Indian enterprises, attended the Aero India 2023 show.

MSMEs and start-ups from India will participate in the expo, showcasing the evolution of specialised technologies as well as the country’s expansion in aerospace and defence capabilities.

Major exhibitors in Aero India 2023 include Airbus, Boeing, Dassault Aviation, Lockheed Martin, Israel Aerospace Industry, BrahMos Aerospace, Army Aviation, HC Robotics, SAAB, Safran, Rolls Royce, Larsen and Toubro, Bharat Forge Limited, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) and BEML Limited.

The five-day event will radiate the rise of a strong and self-reliant ‘New India’ by displaying India’s growth in aerospace and defence capabilities.
