Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit in Lucknow. The three-day event has already generated memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and investment proposals totaling more than Rs 22 lakh crore, as the state strives to become a trillion-dollar economy in the next five years.
On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Lucknow for the Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2023. He opened an exhibition in advance of the summit.
The event was also attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The Government of Uttar Pradesh’s flagship investment summit is the UP Global Investors Summit 2023. The mega event will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, academia, think tanks, and leaders from around the world to explore business opportunities and form partnerships.
Investor UP 2.0 is a comprehensive, investor-centric and service-oriented investment ecosystem in Uttar Pradesh that endeavors to deliver relevant, well-defined, standardized services to investors, said an official statement.
PM Narendra Modi will address industrialists from abroad and the country thereafter inaugurating the event.
During the course of the summit, there will be a total of 34 sessions. Of these, 10 sessions will be on the first day, 13 on the second and 11 on the last day. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and state Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi as well as industrialists Mukesh Ambani, K Chandrasekaran, Kumar Mangalam Birla and Anand Mahindra will address the inaugural session of the summit.
Later that day, with Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav as the keynote speaker, a discussion on ‘UP Designing and Manufacturing in India for the World’ will take place.
A session titled ‘UP is Open for Business: Providing New Opportunities for MSMEs and Co-operatives’ will be held on Day 2. The session’s chief guest will be Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister, will also be present at the session.
‘UP Opportunities in Excise and Sugar Industry’ is one of the sessions scheduled for the final day. Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal will attend.
In Vashishtha Hall, there will be an E-mobility session and a seminar on Vehicle and Future Mobility. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will speak on the subject.
A bankers’ roundtable discussion on UP’s march towards a trillion-dollar economy will also take place. The roundtable will be attended by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. President Droupadi Murmu will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony.
