Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha on Tuesday and announce construction projects worth Rs 19,600 billion. The day also marks the birthday of former president Biju Patnaik, for whom the BJD president is named. These projects cover many sectors, including oil and gas, railways, roads, transportation, highways and atomic energy.

In an interview with ANI, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ashish Kumar Singh confirmed that adequate security arrangements were in place for the Prime Minister’s visit. “More than 3,000 police officers have been deployed under the supervision of senior officials. The teams have been deployed as per plan,” Singh said.

During the visit, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the Indian Oil Corporation Paradip refinery. The monoethylene glycol project will help reduce India’s oil dependency. It will also provide a 344 km long pipeline for the country from Paradip in Odisha to Haldia in West Bengal.

The Governor will set up a facility for the export of 0.6 MMTPA Liquefied Petroleum Gas at Paradip to strengthen the import market on the East Coas. In addition, it will also widen four lanes of various highways including Sinhara to Binjabaha, Binjabaha to Thiraibani, Balasore-Jabokaria and Tangi-Bhu Baneswar.

PM Modi, who is scheduled to arrive at Chandikhole in Jajpur district around 3:30 pm, will address the public. “The Prime Minister will address a public meeting at 3:30 pm,” Odisha Bharatiya Janata Party leader Manmohan Samal said.

On the same day, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone of the eight-lane Chandikhole -Paradeep Road. This line will also be allocated to the country’s 162 km long Bansapani-Daitari-Tomka-Jakhapura railway line to increase capacity and improve iron ore and manganese ore transportation.

In addition, Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate the 5 ml desalination plant at the Sands complex in Odisha, affiliated with Indian Rare Earth Corporation Limited. The facility is part of an indigenous desalination application site being developed by the Bhabha Atomic Research Center and will meet a critical need.

February 3 saw the state’s last Chief Minister announcing projects worth over Rs 68,000 billion.
