PM Modi Notes Strong Support For NDA As Poll Rallies In Southern India Approach

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address election rallies in Jagtial and Shivamogga on Monday, followed by a roadshow in Coimbatore later in the day.

“I will be speaking at rallies in Jagtial and Shivamogga today. Later in the evening, I will be part of a roadshow in Coimbatore. Whether it’s Telangana, Karnataka, or Tamil Nadu, there is tremendous enthusiasm for the NDA,” PM Modi announced on X.

Earlier, highlighting the NDA’s commitment to both regional aspirations and national progress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the people of Andhra Pradesh to support the alliance for the state’s rapid development during its third term after the elections.

Speaking at a National Democratic Alliance (NDA) election meeting in Boppudi village, Palnadu district, in the presence of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena Party (JSP) leader Pawan Kalyan, PM Modi criticized the Congress for its treatment of alliance partners compared to the BJP.

“The NDA is moving forward with a vision that encompasses both regional aspirations and national development. Our alliance’s strength, supported by the BJP and our partners, is growing. Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan have long been champions of the people’s rights here. In the NDA, we embrace everyone, unlike the Congress, which uses and discards its allies. Although the Congress has formed an INDI alliance today, their mindset remains unchanged,” PM Modi remarked.

He reiterated that the NDA’s goal is to create a developed India and a developed Andhra Pradesh, emphasizing that a double-engine NDA government in Andhra Pradesh would accelerate the state’s progress.

The BJP has forged an alliance with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Jana Sena Party (JSP) for the upcoming Lok Sabha and assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.

PM Modi, alongside TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan, addressed the NDA rally ‘Prajagalam’ in Palnadu district. ‘Prajagalam’, meaning ‘voice of the public’, marks the first joint public meeting of NDA partners in Andhra Pradesh in the last decade.

Jana Sena is contesting the elections in alliance with the BJP and TDP in Andhra Pradesh. As per the seat-sharing arrangement, the BJP will contest six Lok Sabha seats and 10 assembly seats, while the TDP will contest 17 Lok Sabha seats and 144 assembly seats. Janasena will contest two Lok Sabha seats and 21 assembly seats.

The Election Commission of India has announced the dates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections nationwide. Andhra Pradesh will conduct elections for its 25 Lok Sabha constituencies on May 13th in a single phase. The total number of eligible voters in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is 96.8 crore.
