Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded to Rahul Gandhi’s ‘jitni aabadi, utna haq’ promise, asserting that his foremost priority is the welfare of the poor. He also questioned the Congress’ stance on minority rights, referencing Manmohan Singh’s 2006 statement. PM Modi’s remarks followed the release of Bihar’s caste survey data, highlighting the significant presence of EBCs and OBCs in the state.
The Prime Minister emphasized his commitment to eradicating poverty across all sections, countering the opposition’s focus on caste dynamics. He criticized the Congress government in Chhattisgarh, labeling it as a ‘ghotalebaaz sarkar’ and highlighting rising corruption and crime rates.
PM Modi inaugurated a steel plant in Chhattisgarh and emphasized that it belongs to the people of the state, vowing to prevent any Congress leader from exploiting it for personal gain. He also announced that the steel industry would generate employment for over 55,000 individuals and projected more job opportunities in the years to come.
Furthermore, PM Modi accused Congress of neglecting the Bastar region for years, asserting that BJP has allocated significantly more budget for tribal development compared to Congress. He also addressed infighting within the Chhattisgarh Congress, attributing it to the need to save the government and the uncompromising stance against corruption.
The Prime Minister inaugurated various development projects worth around Rs 27,000 crore in Chhattisgarh, including the NMDC Steel Ltd’s steel plant at Nagarnar. This event comes as Chhattisgarh, among five other states, gears up for upcoming elections. The BJP aims to unseat the Congress government that came to power in 2018.
