PM Modi Takes To Social Media To Highlight Economic Benefits Of National Highway Projects Ahead Of Gurugram Visit

In anticipation of his visit to Gurugram in Haryana, where he is scheduled to inaugurate the Dwarka Expressway, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Monday that the 112 National Highway projects to be launched during the event will contribute to economic growth and align with the government’s focus on developing next-generation infrastructure.

Using his official platform on X, PM Modi shared, “Today is a significant day for connectivity across India. At approximately 12 noon today, 112 National Highways, spanning various states, will be dedicated to the nation, or their foundation stones will be laid. The Haryana Section of Dwarka Expressway will be inaugurated. These projects will boost economic growth and are also in line with our efforts to build next-generation infrastructure.”

The Prime Minister is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for 112 National Highway projects valued at approximately Rs 1 lakh crore across the country. In a bid to enhance traffic flow and alleviate congestion between Delhi and Gurugram on NH-48, PM Modi will inaugurate the Haryana section of the pivotal Dwarka Expressway, as per an official release from the PMO.

The Haryana section of the 19-km-long, 8-lane Dwarka Expressway, constructed at a cost of around Rs 4,100 crore, encompasses two packages: the 10.2 km Delhi-Haryana Border to Basai Rail-over-Bridge (ROB) and the 8.7 km Basai ROB to Kherki Daula. This section will provide direct connectivity to the IGI Airport in Delhi and the Gurugram Bypass.

Among the other major projects slated for inauguration by the Prime Minister are the 9.6 km long six-lane Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) – Package 3 from Nangloi – Najafgarh Road to Sector 24 Dwarka section in Delhi, three packages of the Lucknow Ring Road developed at a cost of about Rs. 4,600 crores in Uttar Pradesh; the Anandapuram – Pendurthi – Anakapalli section of NH16 developed at a cost of about Rs 2,950 crores in the state of Andhra Pradesh, the Kiratpur to Nerchowk section of NH-21 (2 packages) worth around Rs. 3,400 crores in Himachal Pradesh; and the Dobaspet – Heskote section (two packages) worth Rs. 2,750 crores in Karnataka.

Additionally, 42 other projects valued at Rs. 20,500 crores in various states across the country are part of the inauguration plan, according to the PMO statement.
