PM Modi to Commence 2-Day Visit to Assam, Unveiling Multiple Development Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a two-day visit to Assam, commencing Friday, to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various development initiatives across the state, announced Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

During his visit, PM Modi will kickstart several significant projects aimed at bolstering Assam’s infrastructure and socio-economic landscape. Among the highlights, he will inaugurate the Rs 3,992 crores pipeline project connecting Barauni to Guwahati on Saturday.

Chief Minister Sarma outlined the itinerary, stating that PM Modi will arrive at Tezpur airport on Friday evening and spend at least two hours exploring the renowned Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve. On March 9, the Prime Minister will embark on a tour of the park and subsequently proceed to Arunachal Pradesh.

PM Modi’s agenda includes inaugurating the Tinsukia Medical College and laying the foundation stone for the Sivasagar Medical College under the PM-DIVINE scheme. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stones for the expansion projects of the Digboi and Guwahati refineries, aiming to boost their capacities and efficiency.

Furthermore, PM Modi will address a rally at Meleng Meteli and unveil several pivotal projects undertaken by both the central and state governments. The Prime Minister will also conduct the ‘Griha Pravesh’ ceremony for 5.5 lakh houses constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).

As part of the visit, PM Modi will engage in public interactions and ceremonies, showcasing the government’s commitment to inclusive development and welfare initiatives.

In anticipation of PM Modi’s visit to Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve, the management has announced the closure of jeep safaris and elephant rides in the Kaziranga range of Kohora from March 7 to 9, ensuring minimal disruptions during the Prime Minister’s visit.
