PM Modi to flag off Rajasthan’s first Vande Bharat Express tomorrow

Rajasthan is also going to get the gift of the Vande Bharat train. Ajmer-Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express will be the world's first semi-high-speed passenger train to run on high rise overhead electric (OHE) sector.

Indian Railways is continuously increasing the number of Vande Bharat trains nationwide. In this episode, now Rajasthan’s number is there. Tomorrow, i.e. on April 12, Rajasthan will get the first Vande Bharat train. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off Rajasthan’s first Vande Bharat Express train through video conferencing on April 12, 2023, at 11 am. This train will run between Jaipur to Delhi Cantt.

Its regular service will commence from April 13, 2023, running between Ajmer and Delhi Cantt with stops at Jaipur, Alwar and Gurgaon. This train will cover the distance between Delhi Cantt to Ajmer in 5 hours and 15 minutes. This train will be 60 minutes faster than the Shatabdi Express running on the same route. Shatabdi Express takes 6 hrs 15 mins from Delhi Cantt to Ajmer. In this way, the new Vande Bharat Express will be 60 minutes faster than the existing fastest train running on the same route.

Ajmer-Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express will be the world’s first semi-high-speed passenger train to run on high rise overhead electric (OHE) sector. This train will improve the connectivity of major tourist places of Rajasthan, including Pushkar and Ajmer Sharif Dargah. Increasing connectivity will also boost socio-economic development in the region.

So far, 11 Vande Bharat Express trains have been started in the country on various interstate routes. The first Vande Bharat train in the country ran from New Delhi to Varanasi. After this, the Railways started New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Gandhinagar-Mumbai, New Delhi-Amb Andaura, Chennai-Mysore, Nagpur-Bilaspur, Howrah-New Jalpaiguri, Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam, Mumbai-Solapur, Mumbai-Sainagar Shirdi and Vande Bharat Express was run on the Delhi-Bhopal route.
