PM Modi Will Speak To Recipients Of The PM SVANidhi scheme In Delhi Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address beneficiaries of the PM SVANidhi scheme at JLN Stadium in the national capital this Thursday. The Prime Minister’s Office has announced that PM Modi will personally distribute loans under the scheme to 1 lakh street vendors, including 5,000 from Delhi, during this event.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the construction of two more corridors of Delhi Metro’s Phase 4 as part of the program.

Aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision to offer economic support to marginalized sections, PM SVANidhi was initiated on June 1, 2020, amid the global economic challenges posed by the pandemic. It has brought significant changes for the marginalized street vendor communities.

To date, over 82 lakh loans, totaling more than Rs 10,978 crore, have been disbursed to over 62 lakh street vendors nationwide. In Delhi alone, nearly 2 lakh loans amounting to Rs 232 crores have been distributed. The scheme remains a pivotal instrument for financial inclusion and overall welfare for historically underserved individuals.

During the event, the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stones for two additional Delhi Metro corridors: Lajpat Nagar – Saket-G Block and Inderlok – Indraprastha. These corridors, with a combined length of over 20 km, will enhance connectivity and alleviate traffic congestion.

Notable stations on the Lajpat Nagar to Saket G-Block corridor include Lajpat Nagar, Andrews Ganj, Greater Kailash – 1, Chirag Delhi, Pushpa Bhawan, Saket District Centre, Pushp Vihar, and Saket G-Block. The Inderlok – Indraprastha corridor will feature stations such as Inderlok, Daya Basti, Sarai Rohilla, Ajmal Khan Park, Nabi Karim, New Delhi, LNJP Hospital, Delhi Gate, Delhi Sachivalaya, and Indraprastha.
