PM Modi Wraps Up His Two Nations Visit, Heads Back To India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi departed from Doha for New Delhi on Thursday, marking the conclusion of his two-nation tour to the UAE and Qatar. PM Modi had arrived in Doha’s capital on Wednesday night from the UAE. According to the MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, PM Modi boarded his flight for Delhi after a productive visit to Qatar. Jaiswal stated in a post on X, “Concluding a significant chapter in India-Qatar relations, PM @narendramodi takes off for New Delhi after a productive visit.”

In Doha on Thursday, PM Modi received a ceremonial welcome and engaged in a bilateral discussion with the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The meeting was joined by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval. Expressing gratitude, PM Modi thanked the Amir of Qatar for assisting in the release of Indian navy veterans detained in Doha on suspected espionage charges. He further extended an invitation to the Qatari leader for an official visit to India.

“Prime Minister thanked His Highness the Amir for his support for the welfare of the Indian community and in this regard expressed his deep appreciation for the release of eight Indian nationals of Al Dahra company. We are extremely gratified to see them back in India. PM invited His Highness the Amir to pay a visit to India,” Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra said in a briefing on PM’s visit to Qatar.

PM Modi and the Amir of Qatar deliberated on various aspects of bilateral cooperation, encompassing energy collaboration, regional security concerns, cultural affinity, and people-to-people connections.

Upon his arrival in Doha on Wednesday, PM Modi held talks with his counterpart, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, focusing on strategies to enhance bilateral relations.
