The Prime Minister expressed awe at the stunning beauty of the islands and conveyed gratitude for the warm hospitality of the locals.

PM Modi’s posts showcased not only the scenic landscapes but also his adventurous side, as he attempted snorkeling and described the experience as “exhilarating.” Encouraging adventure enthusiasts, he stated, “For those who wish to embrace the adventurer in them, Lakshadweep has to be on your list.”

The Prime Minister took early morning walks along the pristine beaches, describing them as moments of pure bliss. Reflecting on the tranquility of Lakshadweep, he shared, “In addition to the scenic beauty, Lakshadweep’s tranquility is also mesmerizing. It gave me an opportunity to reflect on how to work even harder for the welfare of 140 crore Indians.”

Highlighting the significance of Lakshadweep beyond its natural beauty, PM Modi emphasized its timeless legacy of traditions and the resilient spirit of its people. He described his visit as an enriching journey of learning and growth.

During his visit, the Prime Minister inaugurated several development projects worth over Rs 1,150 crore, focusing on uplifting lives through enhanced development. Addressing the nation’s needs, PM Modi stated, “Our focus in Lakshadweep is to uplift lives through enhanced development. In addition to creating futuristic infrastructure, it is also about creating opportunities for better healthcare, faster internet, and drinking water, while protecting and celebrating the vibrant local culture.”

The Prime Minister interacted with beneficiaries of various government schemes, expressing inspiration at how these initiatives foster better health, self-reliance, women’s empowerment, and improved agricultural practices.

The visit culminated with the laying of the foundation stone for the renovation of the Health Care facility in Kalpeni and the construction of five model Anganwadi Centres (Nand Ghars) in Androth, Chetlat, Kadmat, Agatti, and Minicoy islands. The projects unveiled are expected to contribute significantly to the overall development and well-being of the Lakshadweep islands.
