Rafiq Nai and Shamsher Nai, the two terrorists behind the Poonch attack, are currently hiding out in Pakistan, according to NewsX sources on Saturday. Sources claimed that the two brothers were residents of Poonch and travelled to Pakistan to receive terrorist training as one of the most significant revelations of the investigation into the incident that killed 5 military jawans.
According to NewsX sources, the inquiry yielded the following 5 major revelations:
- The two Nai brothers, Rafiq Nai and Shamsher Nai are likely the masterminds behind the Poonch terror attack.
- The two are natives of Poonch and are currently residing in Pakistan. They moved to Pakistan to get terror training.
- An offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba, called Jammu and Kashmir Ghaznabi force, helped the Jaish-e-Mohammad offshoot people’s anti-fascist force to carry out ambush.
- The brothers are currently holed up in Pakistan and are training terrorists as they have been charged with reviving the terror network in Poonch and Rajauri.
- Another terrorist by the name of Mohd Amin Bhat has been put ‘in-charge’ of Kishtwar Doda and Ramban districts.
This is more hard evidence of Pakistan’s unflinching support of cross border terrorism despite the shambles that their country and economy is in.
Earlier on Friday, the Indian Army launched a massive operation to hunt down a group of around six to seven terrorists who are behind this attack. “The Army and security agencies have received inputs about the presence of 6-7 terrorists operating in two groups in the Rajouri-Poonch sector near the area where the incident took place yesterday,” ANI reported citing sources.
The deceased soldiers, identified as havildar Mandeep Singh, lance naik Debashish Baswal, lance naik Kulwant Singh, sepoy Harkrishan Singh, and sepoy Sewak Singh, were assigned to the army’s Rashtriya Rifles unit and were stationed in the area for counter-terrorism operations.
