Prime Minister Modi holds bilateral meeting with Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese in Sydney

On the third day of his visit to Australia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese.

External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar and National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval also attended the meeting. PM Modi was honored with a Ceremonial Guard of Honour at Sydney’s Admiralty House on Wednesday.

On his visit to Sydney’s Admiralty House, Prime Minister Modi also signed the visitors’ book. PM Modi on Tuesday made a major address to the Indian diaspora at a community gathering during his Sydney tour, emphasizing that “mutual trust and mutual respect” form the cornerstone of India and Australia’s long historical relations.

Recognizing that the relations between India and Australia were previously defined by the three Cs- Commonwealth, Cricket, and Curry- and then by ‘Democracy, Diaspora, and Dosti’ before ‘Energy, Economy, and Education’ emerged as a key component, Prime Minister Modi stated that he believes the relationship is “beyond this” and “it is mutual trust and mutual respect.”

On the second day of his visit to Australia, PM Modi spoke at a community event in Sydney, crediting the Indian diaspora in Australia as a driving force behind mutual respect and trust between the two countries.

“Earlier, it was said that India and Australia’s relation is defined by 3Cs- Commonwealth, Cricket, and Curry. Then it was said that our relationship is defined by ‘Democracy, Diaspora, and Dosti. Some people also said that our relationship depends on Energy, Economy, and Education. But I believe that the relation between India-Australia is beyond this, it is mutual trust and mutual respect,” PM Modi told the audience at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney.

Prime Minister Modi met with Australian CEOs on Tuesday

PM Modi met with business leaders from prominent Australian corporations in Sydney on Tuesday. During the sessions, he advocated for increased collaboration with Indian industry in areas like as technology, skilling, and sustainable energy.
