The Telangana Police have initiated an investigation into a distressing incident in Mahabubnagar district, where over 20 stray dogs were discovered dead in a village. The tragic incident reportedly occurred in Ponnakal village, Addakal mandal, late on Friday night, prompting swift action from local authorities.
According to accounts provided by villagers, the distressing episode unfolded when masked individuals in a car arrived in the village after midnight and allegedly opened fire on the stray dogs. The gruesome act resulted in the death of approximately 20 dogs, while several others sustained injuries.
Animal activists, alarmed by the brutality inflicted upon the innocent animals, promptly approached the police and filed a formal complaint regarding the incident. Adulapuram Goutham, one of the activists involved, expressed deep concern over the senseless violence, highlighting the need for swift action to address the perpetrators.
“We have lodged a complaint with the police officials regarding this incident,” Goutham stated, underscoring the urgency of the matter.
