Punjab Police Conduct Raids Across Multiple Districts in Pursuit of Gangster Goldy Brar’s Associates

In the midst of the ongoing diplomatic dispute between India and Canada, Punjab Police have initiated a series of raids aimed at apprehending associates of the notorious gangster Goldie Brar, who is believed to be residing in Canada. Brar stands accused of being involved in the murder of Punjabi singer Siddhu Moosewala.

Commencing this operation at 7 A.M. on Thursday, Punjab Police are conducting these raids across multiple districts, including Moga, Ferozepur, Tarn Taran, and Amritsar rural areas. The outcomes of these operations are scheduled to be presented to the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) later today at 5 PM.

Goldy Brar, also known as Satinderjeet Singh, is purportedly affiliated with Lawrence Bishnoi’s criminal gang. He left India for Canada in 2017 on a student visa. Goldy Brar is the primary suspect in the murder of prominent rapper and Congress leader Sidhu Moose Wala, which occurred on May 29, 2022. Allegations suggest that Brar conspired with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in the planning of Moose Wala’s assassination.

Canada had included Brar on its list of the top 25 most-wanted criminals earlier this year. Additionally, Interpol has issued a Red Notice for Brar, accusing him of various crimes, including murder, criminal conspiracy, illegal firearms supply, and attempted murder.

Recently, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) released information regarding 43 individuals associated with a terror-gangster network with connections to Canada. The NIA urged the public to share information about their properties and assets, which could potentially be seized by the central government. The NIA’s communication featured photographs and names of individuals such as Goldy Brar, Rajesh Kumar, Prince, Anil V, and Mohammad Shahbaz, highlighting that many of these criminal elements are believed to be located in Canada.

These developments take place against the backdrop of escalating tensions between India and Canada. On Monday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused the Indian government of involvement in the fatal shooting of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a designated terrorist in India, who was gunned down outside a Gurdwara in a parking area in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, on June 18.
