Pushkar Singh Dhami Visits Emergency Operation Center to Assess the warning-issued Districts’ Situation

Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister of Uttarakhand, visited the State Emergency Operation Centre at the Secretariat on Tuesday to examine the situation in light of a two-day red alert warning issued by the Meteorological Department for seven districts.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlier on Monday issued a red alert for the districts of Tehri, Dehradun, Pauri, Bageshwar, Champawat, Nainital, and Uddham Singh Nagar due to the heavy rains expected on August 23 and August 24.

As a result of the potential for severe to extremely heavy rainfall in remote areas of the aforementioned districts, the Uttarakhand State Emergency Operation Centre has instructed all district magistrates to take measures in their respective districts.

A division of the Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority is the Uttarakhand State Emergency Operation Centre.

Earlier this month, the state’s chief minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, surveyed flood-affected districts from the air and examined the Ganga’s rising water level in Rishikesh. Uttarakhand saw flash floods and landslides as a result of the state’s heavy rainfall. In the state, rain-related occurrences resulted in 52 fatalities and 37 injuries, according to an earlier official estimate.
