Today, August 7, 2024 marks the 83rd death anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore. West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee pens down heartfelt message on social media handla X.
She quotes, “On the death anniversary of the universal poet Rabindranath Tagore, I offer my heartfelt respect and bow to the Tagore of our life. He surrounds us every day of the year, every moment. His ideal is our path. He is our guide.”

Chokher Bali
The film “Chokher Bali” was released in 2003, starring Aishwarya Rai and Raima Sen in the lead roles, with Radhika Apte playing a significant part. Aishwarya Rai portrayed Binodini, a young widow, and her performance was highly acclaimed. The film received numerous awards and is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Uphaar
Released in 1971, “Uphaar” is based on Rabindranath Tagore’s famous story “Sampati.” Directed by Roy Sudhendu, the film features Jaya Bachchan in the lead role. Do Bigha Zameen
“Do Bigha Zameen,” released in 1953, was the first Indian film to win an international award. Kabuliwala
