Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has alerted the Army amid the ongoing deadlock between China and Chinese activities along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Addressing the Army Commanders’ Conference, he said the country’s security is the “top priority” for the Government. During this, he said that because of the deployment of PLA troops on LAC, the situation in the northern sector remains tense, in which case the Army needs to keep a close watch on this border.
Army sources said that during this, the Defense Minister also called upon the armed forces to pay attention to the global geo-political changes and adapt their plans and strategies accordingly. This comment of Rajnath Singh has come in the context of the ongoing border dispute with China in eastern Ladakh for the past several years.
During this, Rajnath Singh also said that the world is currently facing all kinds of uncertainties.
Due to this, future wars will be highly unpredictable. Also, the scope of threats and weapons has become very wide in the present-day changing scenario. Accordingly, we need to assess our defence preparedness. During this, he also emphasized the effective use of intelligence data. He said there is a need to ensure that real-time intelligence is used more effectively so that we are fully prepared to face future challenges.
In his address, he also said that the country’s security is the “top priority” for the Government. In such a situation, I assure you that the Government is trying its best to provide the best weapons and facilities to every jawan posted on the border. During this, he also mentioned Jammu and Kashmir. There is peace and stability there, he said. Along with this, there has also been a decline in terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir. Referring to the situation on the western borders, the Defense Minister appreciated the Indian Army’s response to cross-border terrorism. He said that I appreciate the excellent coordination between the Army, the CAPFs and police forces in tackling the menace of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. Coordinated operations in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir are contributing to enhancing stability and peace in the region and should continue.
Referring to the North Eastern states, the Defense Minister further said that the internal security scenario had improved significantly after the operations carried out by the Indian Army there. However, we need to be vigilant against anti-national organizations challenging the Government’s efforts for peace.
Addressing the Army Commanders’ Conference, the Defense Minister termed the welfare of the armed forces as an important government objective. He said that the Government is continuously working for the welfare and betterment of every soldier and ex-servicemen. The Government is working as diligently for the Armed Forces as the Armed Forces are working for the country’s security.
The Army Commanders’ Conference is an apex-level biennial event. It is held every year in April and October. In this conference, various issues related to the country’s security and the security of borders are discussed. The ongoing five-day Army Commanders’ Conference began on Monday. In this, India’s national security challenges along the borders with China and Pakistan and ways to enhance the force’s combat capability are being discussed.
