Rajnath Singh and Priyanka Gandhi, Set to Campaign in Madhya Pradesh

Ahead of the Assembly elections in five states, including Mizoram and Chhattisgarh’s first phase on Tuesday, prominent political figures from various parties are crisscrossing these states in a final push for campaigning.

In Madhya Pradesh, a range of leaders, including Union ministers, are scheduled to campaign on Monday. Chief Minister Shivraj Chouhan is set to address seven public gatherings throughout the state, covering Assembly constituencies like Devsar, Teonthar, Semariya, Rewa, Gurh, Amarpatan, and Bhopal South. Additionally, Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Arjun Munda, and Ashwini Vaishnaw will join the campaign trail. Singh will hold a rally in Gwalior Rural, Munda will participate in five events in the Sanchi SC-reserved seat, and Vaishnaw will attend events in Bhopal and the Dewas constituency. The party has also enlisted actor-turned-politician Ravi Kishan, the Lok Sabha MP from Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur, for campaigning in Anuppur, Kotma, and Manpur.

For the Congress, General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is slated to address rallies in the Dhar and Indore constituencies on Monday, marking her return to the campaign trail after missing recent public events in Mizoram due to illness.

In Madhya Pradesh, both major political parties have encountered significant backlash due to their candidate lists. The BJP even deployed Union Home Minister Amit Shah to address the concerns of aggrieved leaders and their supporters. During a rally in Ratlam on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Congress for its internal disputes, pointing to a video in which former Chief Minister Kamal Nath is captured instructing discontented Congress workers, who were seeking party tickets for their leaders, to tear the clothes of former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh.
With 20 seats in Chhattisgarh’s southern region set for voting on Tuesday, the BJP has deployed national president J P Nadda, Union Minister Smriti Irani, and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for campaign efforts. On Sunday, Irani addressed rallies in the Kondagaon and Korba districts, while Sarma made appearances in Bilaspur, Baloda Bazar, Janjgir Champa, and Rajnandgaon. They will continue their campaigning on Monday in constituencies slated for the second phase of polling.
