Rajnath Singh will present the Maldives National Defence Forces with a Fast Patrol Vessel ship and a Landing Craft.

Union Minister of Defence Rajnath Singh arrived in the Maldives on Monday for a three-day official visit, during which he would conduct bilateral talks with his Maldivian colleague Mariya Ahmed Didi and Foreign Affairs Minister Abdulla Shahid.

During the discussions, the two countries’ whole defense relationship would be examined. The Minister of Defence will also meet with Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. Mariya Didi greeted Rajanth Singh upon his arrival.

In keeping with India’s commitment to strengthening the capabilities of friendly countries and partners in the region, Rajnath Singh will present the Maldives National Defence Forces with a Fast Patrol Vessel ship and a Landing Craft.

The Defence Minister will also tour ongoing project sites in the country and connect with the Indian diaspora during his visit. India and the Maldives are collaborating to solve common concerns such as maritime security, terrorism, radicalization, piracy, trafficking, organised crime, and natural catastrophes.

India’s SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region) strategy, as well as its ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy and the Maldives’ ‘India First’ policy, strive to collaborate to cooperatively develop capabilities in the Indian Ocean Region.
