Rajnath Singh in the Lok Sabha: “Some Opposition parties not serious about Manipur situation”

During the Lok Sabha session, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressed the pressing demand to discuss the recent violence in Manipur. He reassured all members present that the Centre was willing to discuss all issues regarding law and order in the Northeast state.

Speaking in Lok Sabha, Rajnath Singh acknowledged the seriousness of the situation and stated that the Prime Minister himself had expressed shame over the viral video, which showed two women being paraded in the nude. The Defence Minister accused some political parties of trying to create a needless disturbance in Parliament to prevent a discussion on Manipur.

The first day of the Monsoon Session was disrupted due to demands for a discussion on Manipur in both Houses of Parliament. Prime Minister Modi expressed deep sorrow and anger over the incident and appealed to all Chief Ministers to strengthen law and order in their respective states.

In his address, the Defence Minister reiterated the demand for a discussion on Manipur in the Lok Sabha. However, amidst opposition members shouting slogans, the Lower House was adjourned until noon.

The Manipur violence has sparked significant concern and debate in Parliament. The government is committed to addressing the situation and ensuring justice serves the victims. The Defence Minister’s assurance to discuss all issues related to law and order in Manipur is a positive step towards finding a lasting solution to the ongoing violence in the state.
