Reliance To Launch Jio AirFiber On Sept 19

Mukesh Ambani, the Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, declared during the 46th Annual General Meeting of the company that the launch of Jio AirFiber is scheduled for this year’s Ganesh Chaturthi, occurring on September 19.

Reliance has set its sights on capturing an unexplored market segment, encompassing more than 200 million homes in India.

Jio AirFiber, in essence, delivers wire-free high-speed connectivity comparable to that of fiber-optic connections. Users can simply plug in the device, turn it on, and instantly establish a personal Wi-Fi hotspot at their residences.

Jio AirFiber presents a Fixed Wireless Access solution that furnishes clutter-free, rapid connectivity of up to 1 Gbps for both homes and offices. This system supports the simultaneous connection of multiple devices, such as smartphones, computers, tablets, smart TVs, and set-top boxes, all while maintaining high internet speeds.

Mukesh Ambani also discussed Jio’s mobile network, highlighting an average monthly data consumption of 25 GB per user. He noted that Jio’s telecom services were launched seven years ago. In regard to Jio’s 5G services, he indicated that they are accessible across 96 percent of census towns and are on track to achieve nationwide coverage by December 2023, aligning with the initial plan.

Jio’s total customer base has recently surpassed the milestone of 450 million users. Worth mentioning, India’s telecommunications service providers commenced offering high-speed 5G services in the country from October 2022. Notably, 5G boasts remarkably low latency compared to its predecessors, thereby significantly enhancing user experiences across various sectors. This reduced latency translates to swift processing of substantial data volumes with minimal delay.
