Spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev recently underwent emergency brain surgery at a private hospital and is reported to be recovering well, according to doctors.
Dr Vinit Suri, Senior Consultant Neurologist at Apollo Hospitals, mentioned in a video that Sadhguru had been experiencing severe headaches for about four weeks. Despite this, Sadhguru continued with his commitments, including leading the nightlong MahaShivRatri celebrations on 8 March.
However, the headaches worsened, prompting an urgent MRI that revealed a significant brain bleed. Although advised immediate hospitalization, Sadhguru initially opted to fulfill his engagements, citing a track record of never missing a meeting in 40 years.

By 17 March, Sadhguru’s neurological condition deteriorated, leading to brain surgery performed by a team of doctors including Dr Vinit Suri, Dr Pranav Kumar, Dr Sudheer Tyagi, and Dr S Chatterjee at Apollo Hospitals.
Dr Suri noted that Sadhguru’s progress has been better than expected, with his brain, body, and vital signs improving to normal levels. Sadhguru is actively participating in his healing process, in addition to medical interventions.
Sadhguru shared an update from his hospital bed on Instagram, mentioning the surgery’s attempt to find something in his skull but finding nothing, leading to its closure without affecting his brain.
