Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud has conveyed his congratulations to India regarding the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEE-EC) during the India-Saudi Strategic Partnership Council Meeting. He expressed the need for “diligent” efforts from all signatory nations to bring this ambitious project to fruition.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman remarked, “I congratulate you on the management of the G20 Summit and the initiatives achieved, including the economic corridor linking the Middle East, India, and Europe, which requires that we work diligently in order to create it into a reality.”

He underscored the historical cooperation between Saudi Arabia and India, emphasizing their joint efforts to shape the future and create opportunities. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who also held a bilateral meeting with the Saudi Crown Prince, expressed gratitude for his work in improving the welfare of the Indian community residing in Saudi Arabia.

The Crown Prince acknowledged that Indians constitute 7% of Saudi Arabia’s population and play a significant role in the country’s economic growth. He pledged continued support for the well-being of the Indian community in Saudi Arabia.

The leaders discussed various areas of bilateral cooperation, including energy security, trade and investment, defense and security, healthcare, food security, culture, and community welfare. Over two dozen Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between Indian and Saudi Arabian companies across sectors such as IT, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, and human resources.

Prime Minister Modi characterized Saudi Arabia as one of India’s most vital strategic partners and anticipated that discussions with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud would invigorate their countries’ relationship. The leaders sealed the outcomes of their meeting with the signing of minutes.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, who had attended the G20 Summit in India over the weekend, was accorded a ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan upon his arrival. Subsequently, he inspected a combined defense services Guard of Honor. He commended India for its successful G20 presidency, highlighting the positive announcements made during the summit.

The Saudi Crown Prince is also scheduled to meet President Droupadi Murmu later in the day, continuing the diplomatic engagements of his three-day State visit to India.
