Shahbad murder case: Victim’s parents demand justice, says “life for life”

The parents of a minor girl who died after being brutally stabbed in Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy area on Monday demanded the death penalty for the accused Sahil.

“We want the death penalty for him (Sahil). Life for life. The way my daughter is gone, he should also be gone,” the deceased mother said while speaking to ANI. “The way he brutally killed my daughter he should get the death penalty. I don’t want anything from anyone my only demand is that he (Sahil) should be punished,” the father of the 16-year-old girl who was killed by accused Sahil in Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy said.

“I work as a labourer, and I have only two children, the first one was her and a small boy, I just want that he should be punished severely,” he said.

Earlier in the day, the Rohini Court in Delhi sentenced Sahil, the accused in the horrific murder of a minor girl in the national capital’s Shahbad Dairy area, to two days in police custody.
According to ANI, Sahil was brought before Duty Metropolitan Magistrates early Tuesday morning for security reasons.

After hearing the Delhi Police’s submissions, duty Metropolitan Magistrate Jyoti Nain granted two days’ remand. The Delhi Police sought Sahil’s remand on the grounds that the murder weapon had not yet been recovered and he was constantly changing his versions, which needed to be verified.

Earlier on Tuesday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Hans Raj Hans on Tuesday met the family of the 16-year-old girl. The BJP MP handed over a cheque of Rs 1 Lakh to the victim’s family member. “Shame on any party that is doing politics after such a tragedy. There were so many people there, they should have caught him then and there. It pained me to see that video,” Hans Raj Hans told ANI.

“You will not be able to watch the complete video (of the crime) if you are a parent, you will not be able to sleep,” the BJP MP said.
