Sharad Pawar Designates Supriya Sule As Party Candidate For Baramati Seat In Maharashtra

Sharad Pawar, leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), officially nominated his daughter and Member of Parliament, Supriya Sule, as the party’s candidate for the Baramati Lok Sabha seat during a rally held in Bhor taluka of Pune district on Saturday.

In his address, Sharad Pawar anticipated the announcement of Lok Sabha elections by the Election Commission (EC) on March 14 or March 15. He emphasized the significance of these elections in determining the nation’s future, expressing the need for change. Pawar criticized Prime Minister Modi, alleging a lack of attention to farmer suicides and a narrow focus on Gujarat.

Taking a dig at Modi’s “Modi Ki Guarantee,” Pawar questioned the promises made, citing the failure to recover black money, ongoing farmer protests, and the serious issues of inflation and unemployment in the country.

“If you think the situation should be in control, now is the time when you will go for election, press the button of “Tutari” (symbol of NCP SP party). Today, I declare Supriya Sule as a candidate for Baramati Lok Sabha constituency. You (voters of Baramati Lok Sabha Constituency) have elected her three times and she is among the first two-three MPs who ranked among all other MPs known for their works.”

“Your candidate also topped in overall attendance in the Parliament, the MP who won the best parliamentarian award for 7 times is your candidate…so you have to elect her in upcoming elections,” he added.

Advocating for Supriya Sule, Pawar urged voters to support the new election symbol of the NCP SP party, “Tutari.” He highlighted Sule’s achievements as an MP, emphasizing her three-time election victory and recognition as one of the top-performing MPs known for her dedicated work. Pawar pointed out Sule’s outstanding attendance in Parliament and her seven-time receipt of the Best Parliamentarian Award.

The rally, organized by the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in Bhor taluka of Pune district, witnessed the presence of key figures, including ShivSena’s MP Sanjay Raut, MP Supriya Sule, and Congress’s Balasaheb Thorat. Pawar concluded by encouraging voters in the Baramati Lok Sabha Constituency to elect Supriya Sule in the upcoming elections.
