Shimla: Hit Hard By Heavy Rains, Normal Life Disrupted

Heavy rainfall lashed Shimla city on Thursday, disrupting normal life and causing water logging in several parts of the city.

Commuters were seen wading through water-logged roads.

A local feared that the trees may be uprooted following the heavy rains.

“Today’s heavy rainfall has choked drains and caused waterlogging. There is a looming threat of trees being uprooted. While last year saw significant damage, Shimla has fortunately been spared so far this year,” Babu, a local, told ANI.

He added, “However, the persistent rainfall is instilling fear among the locals. People are struggling to cross the roads and are facing immense difficulties in commuting.”
