In the recent occurrence of events, the BJP leader Dilip Ghosh and congress leader Supriya Shrinate have been under fire for their derogatory comments and posts on social media against women. During the campaign, Mr. Ghosh has ignited a significant controversy with his comment regarding Ms. Banerjee. “Didi goes to Goa and says, ‘I am Goa’s daughter’, then goes to Tripura and says, ‘I am Tripura’s daughter’. Decide who your father is. It is not good to be just anybody’s daughter,” He can be heard saying in a video that has gained widespread attention.

The comments have elicited a strong reaction from the Trinamool Congress, which stated that Mr. Ghosh is expressing his frustration following his removal from the Medinipur constituency, where he is currently serving, and his placement in another electoral district.

Subsequently, Supriya Shrinate was brought under the scanner for posting Derogatory posts on Social Media against the politician-actor Kangana Ranaut. The Election Commission of India (ECI) stated that Shrinate’s remarks were deemed to contravene the provisions of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and the ECI advisory issued on March 1, 2024. The alleged post from Congress’ social media chairperson, Supriya Shrinate, on Monday, which included a picture of Ranaut with a controversial caption, has now been removed.

“Many people have access to my Facebook and Instagram accounts. Someone from them made an extremely inappropriate post today. As soon as I came to know, I deleted that post. Everyone who knows me also knows very well that I can never make personal and indecent comments towards any woman. I wanted to know how this happened,” Said Supriya Shrinate.
