According to an official, the Indian Army has donated solar lighting to Tokowpathar hamlet in Assam’s Tinsukia district in order to aid in the development of basic infrastructure.

“The installation of solar lamps would aid in basic infrastructure development and give energy-efficient street lights to the community, which is suffering from an acute lack of power,” stated the PRO (Defence) Tezpur in an official release.

According to the statement, the lights were presented to the locals at a ceremony hosted by the Red Shield Division at Village Lower Primary School.

The event was attended by key members of the village council as well as 200 local people.
