Sonia Gandhi Accuses PM Modi Of Systematic Effort To Cripple Congress Financially

Former Congress President Sonia Gandhi has launched a scathing attack against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging a “systematic effort” by him to financially cripple the grand old party. This accusation comes amidst the ongoing funds row that has gripped the Congress.

In a press briefing on Thursday, Sonia Gandhi expressed her concerns about the funds collected from the public being frozen and money from their accounts being forcibly taken away. Despite these challenges, she asserted that the Congress is striving to maintain the effectiveness of its election campaign.

This strong statement from Sonia Gandhi follows similar allegations made by senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, highlighting the party’s ongoing struggle against what they perceive as deliberate attempts to undermine their financial stability.

During a rare joint press conference with party president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi reiterated her stance, emphasizing the systematic effort by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to undermine the Congress’s financial standing.

The allegations levelled by Sonia Gandhi carry significant weight as they come at a crucial time, with the Lok Sabha election drawing closer. The Congress’s assertion of facing financial hurdles adds another dimension to the political landscape, raising questions about the fairness and transparency of the electoral process.

The Congress leadership’s unified front in addressing these issues underscores the seriousness of the situation, with efforts focused on navigating through the challenges posed by what they perceive as targeted financial setbacks.

As the political discourse intensifies, Sonia Gandhi’s accusations against PM Modi highlight the contentious nature of Indian politics, where allegations and counter-allegations play a pivotal role in shaping public perception and influencing voter sentiment.

The coming days are likely to witness further developments in this regard as both the Congress and the government navigate through the complexities of electoral campaigning amidst a backdrop of financial controversies and political tensions.
