Special Polling Booth Installed In Gurugram, For Women, Disables and Youth

As Voting has began in Haryana, special polling booths have been established across the four assembly constituencies of Gurugram: Pataudi, Badshahpur, Sohna, and Gurgaon.

The special booths have been set up to encourage higher voter turnout, especially among first-time voters and persons with disabilities booths. They are categorized as ‘Pink’ for women, ‘Youth’ for young voters, and ‘PWD’ for people with disabilities, are designed to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for voters.

Each booth is equipped with enhanced facilities and decorations to make the voting experience smoother and more enjoyable. For instance, women voters can visit the ‘Pink’ booth at Aravalli Shriram Public School in DLF Phase-4, where female staff members are ready to assist. Youth voters have a special booth at Government Senior Secondary School in Sector 4, and disabled voters can use the PWD booth at Gyandeep School in Sheetla Colony.

The district election officer, Nishant Kumar Yadav, emphasized the importance of these special booths, following a similar setup during the Lok Sabha elections earlier this year. The district administration aims to exceed 70% voter turnout across Gurugram’s four constituencies, which collectively host over 1.5 million registered voters.

Voting started early on October 5, and by 11 am, 23.70% of voters had already cast their ballots.
