KTR Accuses Congress of Attempted Murder Following Stabbing of KCR Party MP

The assailant, a 38-year-old man, attacked Reddy while he was campaigning for the Dubbak assembly seat.

Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao strongly condemned the attack on his party’s MP and assembly election candidate, Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, during a campaign event in Siddipet. He placed the blame on Congress and referred to the incident as a “murder attempt” orchestrated by individuals associated with the Congress party.

KTR expressed his dismay at the use of violence in democratic society, emphasizing that such actions should have no place in politics. He also hoped that the Election Commission of India would take significant action in response to this incident.

The assailant, a 38-year-old man, attacked Reddy while he was campaigning for the Dubbak assembly seat. A video circulating on social media captured the moments when the injured Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader was being transported to the hospital in a car. Siddipet Commissioner of Police N Swetha stated that the condition of the MP is reported to be stable. The assailant, who approached the MP during their meeting, drew near and attacked him with a knife, as reported by PTI.

In response to the incident, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao conveyed, “I want to make it clear that the attack on our Dubbak candidate is an attack on me personally. If these assaults persist and if restraint is not exercised, we too possess the courage to respond. If we are compelled to resort to similar actions, there will be no remnants of your existence, not even dust.”

Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan expressed her shock over the attack on Medak MP and BRS Dubbak MLA candidate Kotha Prabhakar Reddy during an election campaign in Surampalli, Doulthabad mandal. She emphasized that violence has no place in a democratic society and that such incidents pose a threat to the democratic process.
