Supriya Sule Comments on Baramati Election Speculations

In response to speculations regarding Sunetra Pawar’s potential candidacy against her in Baramati, the stronghold of the Pawar family, NCP leader Supriya Sule emphasized the democratic right for anyone to contest elections. With the Lok Sabha polls approaching, the battle for Baramati has intensified.

Addressing the situation, Sule stated, “How can this be considered a family feud? In a democracy, anyone can contest elections. I mentioned yesterday that if they present a strong candidate, I am willing to engage in discussions. I am prepared to discuss any topic, at any time, and at any place they choose.”

Regarding her campaign focus, Sule highlighted key issues such as unemployment, inflation, the recent Paytm controversy, and concerns surrounding the electoral bond scam. She criticized those accused of corruption who are allegedly joining the BJP, emphasizing the significance of addressing corruption issues within the country.

Sule’s comments followed the recent Supreme Court ruling declaring the electoral bond scheme unconstitutional. She questioned the lack of inquiry into the matter and took a dig at Prime Minister Modi’s previous statements.

These remarks coincided with the appearance of publicity campaign vehicles in Baramati featuring images of NCP Chief Ajit Pawar and his wife Sunetra, fueling speculation about Sunetra’s candidacy for the Lok Sabha constituency. Currently represented by Supriya Sule, the Baramati segment has historically been a stronghold for Sharad Pawar and his family.

Sunetra Pawar, a social worker from a political family background, is associated with various social and educational organizations. She founded the Environmental Forum of India and serves as a trustee for the Vidya Prathishthan educational institution. Additionally, she is a member of the World Entrepreneurship Forum’s Think Tank.
