Tamil Nadu Minister of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments, PK Sekar Babu, launched the logo for the ‘Global Muthamizh Murugan Conference’ on Monday in Chennai. The conference is set to be held at Palani, the third abode of the six abodes of Lord Murugan, on August 24 and 25, 2024. At Palani, Lord Muruga is revered as the God of Muthamizh.
Addressing a press conference at the launch, PK Sekar Babu said, “Next month, on August 24 and 25, the ‘Global Muthamizh Murugan Conference’ will be held at Palani. Many teams have been formed ahead of this conference, and 36 people from other countries have shown their interest in participating. This event will be the first of its kind in Tamil Nadu’s spiritual history and will bring great pride to the Tamil deity Muruga. Free food will be distributed to all participants, and medical camps will also be set up.”
“Since the DMK formed the government, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has participated in 74 Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments department events. As a department minister, I have participated in 606 events. How can anyone say this government is against spiritualism?” he added.
The purpose of the Global Muthamizh Murugan Conference is to worship Lord Muruga. The objectives of the conference are to spread the core principles of Murugan globally, enable an easy understanding of the philosophical doctrines of Murugan, unite devotees on a global scale, propagate the valuable teachings of Murugan worship drawn from Puranas, literature, Thirumurais, and Shaiva Siddhanta scriptures, and instill the renowned Murugan doctrines in the minds of the youth, paving the way for a prosperous and harmonious divine world.
