On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve in Tamil Nadu and fed elephants at the Theppakadu elephant camp. On Sunday, PM Modi paid a visit to the Theppakadu. Elephant Camp in Mudumalai Tiger Reserve. At the elephant camp, he chatted with mahouts and kavadis. Prime Minister Modi was seen feeding sugarcane to an elephant in footage of his visit.

He also met with the field directors of the tiger reserves that received the highest scores in the recently completed 5th cycle of the Management Effectiveness Assessment exercise. Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Modi visited the Bandipur Tiger Reserve in Karnataka, where he spoke with frontline conservation employees and Self Help Organizations.

“Spent the morning at the scenic Bandipur Tiger Reserve and got a glimpse of India’s wildlife, natural beauty, and diversity,” tweeted Prime Minister. Prime Minister Modi will establish the International Big Cats Alliance (IBCA) on Sunday, according to the PMO.

In July 2019, Prime Minister Modi called for a Global Leaders Coalition to decisively combat poaching and illegal wildlife trade in Asia. According to the PMO, the IBCA will focus on the protection and conservation of the world’s seven principal big cats: the Tiger, Lion, Leopard, Snow Leopard, Puma, Jaguar, and Cheetah.

PM Modi will also kick off the ’50th Anniversary of Project Tiger’. During the programme, he will announce the papers ‘Amrit Kaal Ka Vision for Tiger Conservation,’ a summary report of the 5th cycle of Management Effective Assessment of Tiger Reserves, declare tiger numbers, and release the All India Tiger Estimate Summary Report (5th cycle). Prime Minister Modi will also unveil a commemorative coin marking the 50th anniversary of Project Tiger.
