Nepal experienced a series of seismic events on Tuesday afternoon, with a third earthquake of magnitude 3.8 hitting shortly after twin earthquakes shook the western region of the country. While there have been no reports of human casualties, at least five people were admitted to District Hospital Bajhang. Additionally, a major highway was blocked due to a landslide triggered by the quake, disrupting traffic movement.
Aftershocks continued to rattle the Bajhang district, causing visible cracks in various buildings and leading to the collapse and damage of several houses. Three earthquakes and two aftershocks, all centered in Bajhang district, were recorded between 2:30 pm and 4:50 pm IST.
The third earthquake had a magnitude of 4.1 on the Richter Scale and occurred at 3:45 pm with the epicenter again in Bajhang district. The first two earthquakes were reported to be of magnitude 5.3 and 6.3, according to Nepal’s National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre. These tremors were also felt in various parts of India.
