Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to participate in a massive rally in Assam’s Lakhimpur and conduct a roadshow in Tinsukia and Dibrugarh on Tuesday.

Announcing his visit via social media on Monday, Amit Shah stated, “Tomorrow, will be in Assam to attend a mega rally in Lakhimpur Lok Sabha and a roadshow in Tinsukia (Dibrugarh Lok Sabha). Assam is set to secure Modi Ji’s goal of ‘400 paar’. Eager to meet the state’s vibrant people.”

In a show of support for Union Minister and BJP candidate Sarbananda Sonowal, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma led a roadshow in Dibrugarh on Sunday, drawing thousands of BJP supporters.

Covering approximately 2 kilometres from Chowkidingee Sports Ground to Charali police station, CM Sarma traversed various routes within the city during the procession. The procession, led by Assam’s Gayan Bayan sect, added to the festive atmosphere with diverse musical instruments and dance performances.

In the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Assam, the BJP is contesting in 11 out of 14 seats, while its allies, Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and UPPL, are contesting in two (Barpeta and Dhubri) and one seat (Kokrajhar) respectively.

The elections for the 14 Lok Sabha constituencies in Assam are scheduled to take place in three phases April 19, April 26, and May 7.
