UP Govt opposes Ashish Mishra’s bail plea in Lakhimpur Kheri violence

In the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, the Uttar Pradesh government told the Supreme Court that it had opposed the bail plea of accused Ashish Mishra. Also apprised the court that the eyewitness of the incident had seen the accused, Mishra running away from the spot, which is also mentioned in the charge sheet.

The Uttar Pradesh government said in the court that the crime is of a serious category, and granting bail to the accused can have a bad effect on society in such a situation. Explain that the Supreme Court is hearing the bail plea of Ashish Mishra, accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case. Ashish Mishra has filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the decision of the Allahabad High Court, in which the High Court refused to grant bail to Ashish Mishra in the violence case.

When the Supreme Court asked the reason for opposing the bail plea, Uttar Pradesh government’s Additional Advocate General Garima Prasad told a bench of Justice Suryakant and Justice JK Maheshwari that the crime is of a serious category and granting bail to the accused would send a wrong message to the society.

Senior advocate Dushyant Dave appeared in the court on behalf of the people opposing the bail plea of Ashish Mishra. Dushyant Dave also said that giving bail to the accused would send a wrong message to society. He said it was a conspiracy and a well-planned murder. Dave said that the accused is the son of an influential person, and strong lawyers are also fighting his case.

Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni, is an accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case. It is alleged that in October 2021, Ashish Mishra’s car had trampled the farmers protesting in Tikonia of Lakhimpur Kheri. In which eight farmers died. The protesters then attacked the people in the SUV, in which the driver of the car and two BJP workers were killed.
