Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh exuded confidence in the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) success in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh, stating, “UP se, 80 out of 80.” Singh conveyed this optimism while addressing reporters after inspecting the Lucknow Ring Road from the Sultan Road Side.
During the interaction, he shared that the construction of the Lucknow Ring Road, measuring 104 kilometers, would be completed by February 28. The inauguration of this significant infrastructure project is scheduled for the first week of March.
Singh emphasized the importance of the Lucknow Ring Road, calling it a dream project with an 8-lane road. He highlighted the completion of 13 flyovers and disclosed plans for initiating construction on at least 10 more approved flyovers to enhance connectivity.
Addressing the relationship between developmental work and elections, the Defence Minister stressed that such activities should not be linked. He underscored the responsibility of representatives to address local issues and consistently fulfill their duties for the welfare of their constituencies.
As Rajnath Singh and the BJP express confidence, the opposition INDIA bloc faces challenges, particularly as the Congress and the Samajwadi Party struggle to form an alliance in the state. Disagreements over two contested seats have reportedly stalled the alliance. Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav reiterated that he would only join Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra once an agreement on seat-sharing is reached. The political landscape in Uttar Pradesh remains dynamic as parties maneuver to secure their positions ahead of the upcoming elections.
