UP-STF Crackdown On CSIR-NET Exam Scam, 7 Apprehended

Busting a major racket, UP’s Special Task Force (STF) has crackdown on a gang, that allegedly gave solvers for the CSIR-NET exam. In connection with this racket, it apprehended seven individuals including important university personnel and four applicants.

Acting on a tip-off received by ASP Brajesh Kumar Singh, the STF team conducted a raid on Subharti University’s law department’s computer lab in Meerut. The raid happened during the CSIR-NET exam.

From this raid, the team discovered a laptop, five central processing units, two pendrives and four CSIR- UGC NET exam ID cards. Moreover, it also found three Aadhar cards, three mobile phones, two PAN cards and an incriminating document.

The names of the arrested were Subharti University’s IT Manager Arun Sharma and computer lab assistant Vineet Kumar and NSEIT’s server operator Ankur Saini. The names of the arrested applicants are Ankit, Tamanna, Monika and Jyoti.

What STF’s Investigation Revealed? 

As per UP STF Chief Amitabh Yash’s revelation, that two laptops of the server room had Anydesk remote access.

When they scanned the mobile phones, they saw, that 11 names of aspirants were mentioned. Besides the name, their IP addresses were there.

Furthermore, the investigation also revealed, that Arun Sharma has established an alternate system in his room. From there, he acquired the unauthorized access to exam server. This access was acquired with the help of NSEIT’s server operator Ankur Saini and Lab assistant Vineet Kumar.

These breached exam files were sent to an individual named Ajay in Haryana. Afterward, Ajay in turn arranged solvers to finish the exams and then sent the answers to candidates, who paid for the services.

According to STF press communique, the gang used to take humongous amount of money from candidates. They used to charge for giving them facility for online solvers to finish the exam.

Currently, the raids are being held for targeting gang’s other members and case has been lodged under sections 318(2)/338/336(3)/61(2) & 111/3 of New Laws Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita.

In addition, the case has also been registered under UP Public Exams Act of sections 3/5/7/9/10. It has also registered the case under 66D of IT Act.
