Visakhapatnam: Infosys Inaugurates Development Centre

Infosys, a global frontrunner in next-generation digital services and consultancy, marked a significant milestone on Monday with the official opening of its state-of-the-art development centre (DC) in Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam.

Spread across an impressive 83,750 square feet, this new facility represents a bold move to empower its workforce with greater flexibility, allowing employees to work in a hybrid model that’s closer to home. Furthermore, this center will facilitate the attraction, reskilling, and upskilling of local talent, priming them to engage in global opportunities through cutting-edge technologies like Cloud, AI, and Digital.

The DC was inaugurated by Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, in the presence of Gudivada Amarnath, IT Minister of the Government of Andhra Pradesh, Vidadala Rajini, Minister for Health, Family Welfare & Medical Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Nilanjan Roy, Chief Financial Officer, Infosys, Niladri Prasad Mishra, Vice President, Infosys, and Raghu Boddupally, Vice President, Infosys, and other senior government officials.

This dynamic DC, with a capacity to accommodate around 1,000 employees, is seamlessly aligned with Infosys’ forward-looking strategy for a hybrid workplace. Notably, it adheres to Infosys’ Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments and green building standards, emphasizing efficiency in energy and water consumption as well as waste management.

At the inauguration, Chief Minister Jagan Reddy expressed, “The launch of Infosys’ Visakhapatnam DC marks a pivotal moment in the city’s trajectory of growth. We deeply appreciate Infosys for bolstering the city’s IT landscape and fostering community development. We are optimistic that this center will not only invigorate employment opportunities in the city but also advance Visakhapatnam’s commitment to sustainability through Infosys’ ESG efforts.”

Nilanjan Roy, Chief Financial Officer at Infosys, emphasized, “With the goal of bringing workspaces closer to our Infoscions, this center underlines our commitment to creating hybrid workplaces and providing fresh opportunities to the local talent pool. Visakhapatnam has undoubtedly evolved into a highly attractive investment destination, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the State Government of Andhra Pradesh for their unwavering support as we embark on our operations in this vibrant city.”
