In a recent social media post, Rahul Gandhi shared a heartfelt Diwali message, captioning it, “A Diwali with those whose hard work brightens India!” The video captures him alongside his nephew, Raihan Vadra, engaging with local artisans and workers in traditional crafts.
In the clip, the two are seen trying their hands at skills like wall painting and diya makers, activities that reflect India’s rich cultural heritage. Rahul Gandhi emphasizes the importance of connecting with traditional crafts, saying, “Today’s generation often misses out on seeing these things. They’re mostly on WhatsApp, cell phones, and social media. I thought Raihan should experience the background work that goes on.”
The video shows a playful moment when Rahul asks Raihan if he found the activities easy, to which Raihan responds, “No, it looked easier than it actually is.” In a light-hearted exchange, Raihan then asks Rahul if he celebrated Diwali in school. Rahul fondly recalls, “Yes, Diwali in school was fun. We’d even throw rockets at each other sometimes—I was the mastermind behind that!”
Rahul asked the workers, “Where are you from?” and they replied, “Bihar.” Then Rahul asked, “How do you like Delhi?”
The workers responded, “It’s nice, but home is home, sir.”
