West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose unveiled ‘Log Sabha,’ a dedicated portal aimed at maintaining connectivity with citizens during the seven-phased Lok Sabha elections following the Election Commission’s announcement.
The portal, accessible via logsabha.rajbhavankolkata@gmail.com, allows citizens to communicate their concerns regarding the state’s polling directly to the Governor.
Raj Bhavan sources indicate that grievances and suggestions received through the portal will be promptly addressed. Notably, all 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal will undergo polling across the seven phases, as confirmed by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar during a press conference.
This initiative echoes a similar effort during the state’s panchayat elections, where the Governor established a Peace Room at Raj Bhavan to monitor polling and address public representations effectively. The Governor’s accessibility during the panchayat polls, both via telephone and email, contributed significantly to reducing pre-election and election-related violence.
Governor Bose’s proactive approach includes early morning ground assessments and engagements with local communities, emphasizing his commitment to ensuring peaceful and transparent elections. Sandeep Rajput, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Governor, will oversee the ‘Log Sabha’ as the nodal officer.
The Lok Sabha elections are scheduled from April 19 to June 1, with vote counting slated for June 4. Governor Bose’s focus remains on minimizing violence and corruption during the electoral process, emphasizing his dedication to serving the people of West Bengal transparently and effectively.
