Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s 100 Days Plan: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has prioritized five major issues for immediate action within the first 100 days of her tenure, aiming to deliver “visible results” to the people who placed their trust in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). According to NewsX sources, these initiatives will focus on healthcare, sanitation, infrastructure, and environmental concerns.
First 100 Days Plan: Key Initiatives
As per sources, Gupta’s agenda includes:
- Implementation of Ayushman Bharat: The rollout of the central government’s flagship medical insurance scheme in Delhi to improve access to healthcare services for eligible residents.
- Cleaning the Yamuna River: A focused effort to clean the heavily polluted river, accompanied by de-silting of roads and sewers in preparation for the upcoming monsoon season.
- Citywide Sanitation Drive: A large-scale initiative to clear garbage from streets, potholes, and neglected corners of the city, along with road repairs to prevent waterlogging during the rains.
- Water Supply and Air Quality Improvement Strategy: A comprehensive plan to address the capital’s persistent issues with water shortages and air pollution.
- Review of Mohalla Clinics: An in-depth assessment of the existing neighborhood health clinics to ensure they function efficiently and meet public health needs.
These priority areas are expected to be on the agenda for the first meeting of the newly formed cabinet, which follows today’s oath-taking ceremony.
BJP Announces 100 Days Plan After Resounding Mandate
BJP sources highlighted the significance of the party’s victory, securing 48 out of 70 seats in the Delhi Assembly elections. This marks the first BJP-led government in the national capital in 27 years. Party insiders stated that this overwhelming mandate comes with the responsibility of delivering on campaign promises swiftly.
One of the key electoral commitments was the tabling of pending Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports in the first session of the new Delhi Assembly. This move could put additional pressure on the former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government and its ministers.
Swearing-In Ceremony at Ramlila Ground
Rekha Gupta was formally sworn in as Delhi’s Chief Minister on February 20 in a grand ceremony at Ramlila Ground. The event was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several senior national and state BJP leaders.
Alongside Gupta, six cabinet ministers took the oath of office, including Ashish Sood, Pankaj Kumar Singh, Parvesh Singh Sahib, Kapil Mishra, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, and Raviraj Indraj Singh. Their appointments signal the BJP’s commitment to governance and fulfilling the expectations of Delhi’s voters.
