The disappearance of Navyman Sahil Verma from a ship has left his family in distress, prompting them to call for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the matter. It has been eight days since Sahil Verma mysteriously vanished, despite a massive search operation involving multiple Navy ships and aircraft. Seeking answers and desperate for intervention from the Centre, Sahil’s father voiced his anguish, questioning, “Where is my son?”
Residing in the Ghou Manhasan area of Jammu, Sahil’s parents, Subash Chander and Rama Kumari, are seeking urgent action from the highest levels of government, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha. They demand the safe return of their missing son and have called for a CBI investigation into the incident.
Expressing disbelief at the circumstances surrounding Sahil’s disappearance, Mr. Chander remarked on the absence of conclusive evidence despite the presence of CCTV cameras on the ship. He questioned how his son could vanish without a trace, emphasizing the need for answers. The family, unaware of the incident until two days later, is demanding justice and transparency.
According to the Western Naval Command headquartered in Mumbai, a high-level board of inquiry has been initiated to locate Sahil Verma. However, Sahil’s mother, Rama Kumari, suspects a cover-up, alleging that vital information is being withheld from them.
Gautam, Sahil’s maternal uncle, raised concerns about the ship’s return to base for a day before setting sail again. He questioned the circumstances surrounding Sahil’s disappearance and highlighted delays in informing the family and initiating an inquiry. The family remains hopeful for Sahil’s safe return and seeks clarity and accountability in the ongoing investigation.
