Delhi minister Atishi has made startling claims, asserting that after the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) will now target her along with Saurabh Bharadwaj, Durgesh Pathak, and Raghav Chadha for potential arrest. Speaking out on Tuesday, Atishi stated, “I have been informed that soon there will be ED raids at our residences, and then we will be taken into custody. The BJP is now focusing on the next line of leaders within the Aam Aadmi Party.”
“Yesterday when ED took my name and Saurabh’s name, it was based on a statement which has been circulating with ED and CBI for last year and a half, this statement is also in the charge sheet of ED and CBI, then Why ED Raised Statement Now “?
Atishi further mentioned that the BJP had expected the AAP to weaken following Kejriwal’s arrest but were apprehensive after witnessing opposition parties uniting at the Ramlila Maidan on Sunday. “So now they want to target the next line of leadership,” Atishi remarked.
Detailing a timeline of the anticipated events, Atishi outlined that raids would be conducted on her and her relatives, followed by summons, leading to their eventual imprisonment.
However, she emphasized, “I want to tell the BJP that we are not afraid. Put all of us in jail, and we will stand with Arvind Kejriwal until our last breath. Even if you put ten more people in jail, they will join Arvind Kejriwal’s fight,” Atishi affirmed.
Atishi’s claims come on the heels of the ED naming her and Saurabh Bharadwaj in court, revealing that Kejriwal had mentioned Vijay Nair, a central figure in the alleged liquor scam, reporting to Atishi and Saurabh.
In response, Atishi stated that this information was not new and had been communicated to the ED previously. However, the ED disclosing it in court now sets the stage for potential action against Atishi and Saurabh.
Arvind Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 in connection with the liquor probe and was subsequently remanded to judicial custody until April 15. AAP has affirmed that Kejriwal will continue as Chief Minister and run the government from Tihar jail.
Following the ED’s revelation on Monday regarding Kejriwal naming Atishi and Saurabh, there were speculations on social media that Saurabh Bharadwaj unfollowed Kejriwal on X (formerly Twitter). Saurabh clarified the situation by stating, “To all those spreading fake news, I and @ArvindKejriwal ji both follow each other. Yesterday’s Ramlila Maidan Rally was superhit. Delhi people are with Kejriwal,” in a tweet.
