“50 Balmain pieces stolen” just days before Paris Fashion Week

Fifty items from Balmain’s new collection were stolen just days before Paris Fashion Week. The fashion house’s creative director, Olivier Rousteing, shared that his driver informed him about the theft.

Paris Fashion Week is set for September 25 to October 3, with Balmain’s show scheduled for September 27. On Instagram, Rousteing posted, “This morning I woke up happy, ready for fittings, and then this happened…50 Balmain pieces stolen. Our delivery was hijacked. Thankfully, the driver is safe. So many people worked hard on this collection. We are redoing everything, but it’s so disrespectful. To my team and suppliers, stay safe. This is the world we live in. Love you, my Balmain team, and we won’t give up. Love, OR.”

He added, “Today, I was at the office at 9 am, waiting for the final pieces for our show. Our driver called to say he was hijacked. Over 50 Balmain pieces stolen. He was driving from the airport to our headquarters. This is so unfair.”

“My team and I have worked very hard. We will work even harder, day and night, just like our suppliers, but this is so disrespectful. I wanted to share this to remind you not to take anything for granted and to stay safe. This is the world we are living in,” added Rousteing, Balmain’s creative director since 2011.

Donatella Versace commented on his post, “Sending you all my love. I know that you and your creativity will overcome this!”

Olivier Rousteing is a French fashion designer who has worked with celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Kelly Rowland, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Björk, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, and Chris Brown, elevating Balmain’s status.

Balmain is a French luxury fashion house founded in 1945 by Pierre Balmain. It has 16 stores in cities like New York, London, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Miami, and Milan.
