PM Modi At Mahakumbh LIVE Updates: PM Performs Ganga Pujan After Taking Holy Dip

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj today and took a sacred dip in the Sangam, accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) stated, “In line with his commitment to promote and preserve India’s spiritual and cultural heritage, the Prime Minister has consistently taken proactive steps to enhance infrastructure and facilities at pilgrimage sites.”

Maha Kumbh 2025, which began on January 13, stands as the world’s largest spiritual and cultural gathering, attracting devotees from all over the globe. The festival will continue until Mahashivratri on February 26. Many prominent politicians, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, have visited this grand event, while international personalities such as Laurene Powell Jobs, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, and Hollywood actor Dakota Johnson have also made their way to the Maha Kumbh.

Mahakumbh 2025: Previous Visits to Prayagraj

This is not the first time PM Modi has participated in the Kumbh festivities. During the 2019 Kumbh, he had taken a dip in the Ganga and had also washed the feet of five sanitation workers in a symbolic gesture of gratitude for their service.

More recently, on December 13 last year, the Prime Minister visited Prayagraj to inaugurate 167 development projects valued at ₹5,500 crore. These projects aim to enhance connectivity, improve facilities, and provide better services to the public.

Mahakumbh to Continue Till Feb 26

PM Modi has consistently emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting India’s spiritual and cultural heritage. His proactive approach to improving infrastructure and facilities at pilgrimage sites is in line with this vision.

Mahakumbh, the world’s largest spiritual and cultural gathering, commenced on Paush Purnima on January 13 and will continue until Mahashivratri on February 26. The event draws millions of devotees, ascetics, and tourists from across the globe, reaffirming its significance in India’s cultural and religious landscape.
