Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Durgesh Pathak was granted bail by Rouse Avenue Court on Wednesday.
Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Durgesh Pathak appeared in court following a summons and was granted bail upon furnishing a bail bond of ₹1 lakh. Pathak, who is known to be closely associated with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, faced legal scrutiny amid ongoing investigations into the Delhi excise policy scam of 2021-22.
On August 12, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) received court approval to proceed with the prosecution of both Kejriwal and Pathak in connection with the corruption case tied to the now-scrapped excise policy. Kejriwal’s judicial custody has been extended until September 25, and he, along with other accused individuals currently in custody, was presented before the court via video conference from Tihar Jail. Pathak remains a prominent figure within the party’s political affairs committee, underlining his close ties to the Chief Minister.
More details awaited.
